Proprioception

Usually people train their proprioceptors after an injury and during therapy.  There are many athletes who use proprioception training as a way to improve motor skills and work on balance to improve how they perform at their sport.

Proprioception Exercise Example

  1. Carfully stand on a bosu ball with both feet
  2. Squat down just a little bit so there is a bend in your knees
  3. Have someone toss a light weight medicine ball to you. 4 - 8lbs should do.
  4. Catch the med ball and chest pass it back.
  5. Repeat as many times as you wish
Give the exercise above a shot and let me know how it went.  For more information on proprioception and training visit my article here!
